Carl Beech is a visionary innovator, advocate, campaigner and entrepreneur whose personal journey with Parkinson’s disease led to the creation of the BeechBand—a groundbreaking wearable device transforming lives affected by neurological conditions. Diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD), Carl discovered that a simple tapping method could restore his speech, which had been compromised by the condition. Collaborating with long-time friend and technologist Nick Whiteley, they developed the BeechBand a wrist-worn device that replicates this tapping sensation through vibrations and pulses. The BeechBand has shown promising results with patients reporting improvements issues, anxiety, and gait disturbances, not only in Parkinson’s but also in conditions like MS, dyslexia, Tourette’s and essential tremor.Beyond his entrepreneurial ventures,
Carl has dedicated over three decades to ministry and advocacy. He served as President of Christian Vision for Men (CVM) and led Edge Ministries, focusing on reaching marginalized communities. He is a Patron of Spotlight YOPD, the only UK charity supporting those diagnosed with Young Onset PD. In 2024 together with his friend Mark Preston he became one of the only westerners in recent times to gain access to an illegal cobalt mine in D.R. Congo.
